Traditional In-Person Lessons At Forty Niner Country Club

Traditional In-Person lessons with Derek take place at the Forty Niner Country Club in Tucson, Arizona. One session runs 45 minutes in length, however many people book much longer sessions with Derek. More information on that can be found below.  All lessons include a brief post-lesson email or text follow up with applicable videos, pictures, and notes to help the student best retain the information learned. Lesson follow ups will typically occur at the end of the lesson where Derek can airdrop you the videos from the session, or a day or two after. Due to very high demand, no package discounts are currently offered.

Several types of lessons are available, from in-person standard golf lessons to online lessons.

If you need to cancel or reschedule a lesson, please let Derek know as soon as you’re able. Late cancellations and “No Shows” are subject to cancellation fees and may result in no longer being able to schedule lessons.

In-Person Lesson Rates at The Forty Niner Country Club

All in-person lessons start at 45 minutes in length and include a follow up with necessary videos and pictures from the lesson. These videos include what was covered in the lesson and any applicable videos to help the student improve and retain the information learned. All lessons can be pro-rated to fit your time (ie 60 mins would be $167 for individual, etc), and many who travel in for lessons reserve much more time.

Longer lessons can also be booked and are very common. Many students fly in and travel from out of town, so you can book longer sessions in 45 minute increments. Ie – 90 mins, 135 mins and so on. Rates would be $125 per 45 minutes (ie. 90 mins = $250, 135 mins = $375, etc.) Make sure to let Derek know what amount of time you are looking for when making lesson reservations, otherwise it will be assumed to be a 45 minute session, which is most common for those in and near Tucson. All lessons can be pro-rated to fit your time slot needs.

Payments accepted: Cash, Zelle, Venmo, and Credit Card (All credit card payments will incur a 5% processing fee)

Emergency/Squeeze In Lessons (Thursdays and Sundays)

EMERGENCY LESSONS – $275 per hour to squeeze you in ASAP on a day off – As Derek gets so backed up and booked, he will be adding some lessons and coming in to work on his days off. (Sunday’s and Thursday’s) These times need to be worked out with him. If you’d like to see him ASAP, contact him and let him know it’s an “EMERGENCY/SQUEEZE IN LESSON”. He will work to get you in as soon as possible, and or if you’re in town for a certain amount of time and he’s already booked. 

Playing Lessons

Email Derek for more information and setting this up. This can be challenging depending on the time of year and how booked up the Forty Niner Country Club is. Students should be flexible when trying to get on the course with Derek. What typically happens is students will book an amount of time to be on the course with Derek, they go to an opening they find on the course and play holes for the amount of time booked.

Pro Tour Coaching, Day Rate And Travel

Coaching On the PGA Tour, LPGA Tour, and LIV Tours:

Derek’s rate is $500/hour if he is on site at the event. Times must be set up through Derek.

If he is not at the event and you want him to come out to the event, Travel rates can be worked out with him.

If you are a Tour Player and want to work consistently with Derek, an agreement/contract can be worked out with him.

Day Rate

Derek will also have many clients, courses or college programs fly him out to their facility for lessons, his rate is: $4,000 per day (Up to 8 hours of work, days of traveling included as well) and travel expenses can be agreed upon (Ie driving to PHX for work different than flying out to rural New York). Contact Derek for more details and to set this up. He can be flexible and make this a win win for both parties.
